The 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay will bring a world-class wellness resort and flagship sustainable sanctuary to Kauai’s North Shore. The Hotel is perched on a hillside overlooking the breathtaking Hanalei Bay and the verdant cliffs of the Na Pali Coast, surrounded by the lush tropical flora of Hawaii’s Garden Island.
The hotel will feature 252 rooms, including 51 suites, as well as even restaurants and bars with fresh, local, and sustainably sourced farm-to-table cuisine using ingredients from the hotel’s organic on-site garden and neighboring farms. Thoughtful touches will bring nature into each space, with native greenery, reclaimed materials, organic cotton linens, and views of lush gardens, soaring mountains, or sparkling Hanalei Bay.

The hotel first opened in 1986 as The Princeville Resort before it only 5 years later in 1991 is renamed the Sheraton Mirage Princeville. The following year the hotel is severely damaged when Hurricane Iniki hits the island but quickly rebuilt. In 2008/9 the hotel becomes the St. Regis Princeville Resort and continues as the flagship of the North Shore of Kauai. In 2019 the St. Regis becomes part of Starwood Capital and they start a three-year, multi-hundred million dollar remodeling. Simultaneously the new owners announce that the St. Regis Princeville Resort will be rebranded to the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay.
