The Kauai North Shore Lions Club marked another successful milestone with the 23rd annual Lions Kauai North Shore Golf Tournament for Scholarships and Educational Programs, held—as tradition dictates—on the second Saturday of the year. Once again, the tournament delivered both a sold-out field and meaningful results for North Shore students.
This year’s event raised more than $60,000 for scholarships and educational initiatives, reinforcing the Lions Club’s long-standing commitment to local youth. Over the past six years alone, the tournament has generated more than $350,000, directly benefiting students who live on Kauai’s North Shore.
Approximately 35 scholarships are awarded annually, with individual awards ranging from $100 to $5,000. Scholarship amounts are determined through a careful review process conducted by the Lions Club board. Applications are evaluated based on academic performance, demonstrated financial need, participation in school and
community activities, and other qualifying attributes that reflect both commitment and character.
The 2025 tournament was another sell-out, drawing more than 100 golfers to the course for a full day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and community support. Returning as title sponsor, SRS Building Products once again played a critical role in the event’s success, continuing its strong partnership with the Lions Club and its mission.
In addition to the golf itself, the tournament featured several signature attractions that have become highlights over the years. The popular helicopter ball drop offered participants the chance to win more than $2,000, while the always-anticipated $25,000 hole-in-one contest added excitement throughout the day. Additional on-course games and challenges kept golfers engaged and contributed to the tournament’s festive atmosphere.
Following play, participants gathered under a large tent for a tri-tip barbecue lunch prepared and served by Lions Club members. The luncheon also served as the setting for prize drawings and awards, with many items generously donated by local North Shore businesses—further reflecting the community-wide support behind the event.
The Lions Kauai North Shore Golf Tournament has become more than an annual fundraiser. It is a reflection of sustained local investment in education and opportunity, made possible by sponsors, volunteers, golfers, and donors who believe in supporting the next generation.
