Exciting news for families in the Princeville area: Namahana School is officially open for 7th-grade enrollment for the 2026-27 school year!
At Namahana School, learning is personal, hands-on, and community-driven. Students, or haumāna, follow their Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) both on campus and out in the community through Ulu ʻĀina field experiences. With a hiki nō (“can do”) attitude, haumāna take charge of their learning, exploring academic and personal interests while growing alongside the same classmates and kumu (teachers/advisors) for 2–3 years in what we call an ʻOhana (advisory).
But Namahana isn’t just about students—it’s about the whole ʻohana. Parents and caregivers are active partners in their child’s learning journey. They meet regularly with kumu, participate in learning plan meetings, and attend quarterly hōʻike (exhibitions of learning). Being part of Namahana means being part of a supportive, engaged school community that helps students thrive.
