Community-Wide North Shore Give Week Involves 30 Nonprofits
The community foundation North Shore Give is thrilled to announce a week-long community giving event aimed at raising funds and awareness for over 30 nonprofits serving North Shore people or places. North Shore Give Week will take place from September 20-28, 2024, and feature a series of activities designed to engage the community and support important causes.
According to Stefan Swanepoel, president of North Shore Give which is organizing the giving event for nonprofits, the Give Week’s primary objectives are to increase community involvement and awareness of the vital work these nonprofits are doing to improve life on the North Shore, and to raise donations to help them continue their impactful services. “This week-long event promises a blend of entertainment, community service, and fundraising opportunities for all ages,” says Swanepoel.
Registration is open for nonprofits to participate in North Shore Give Week. Nonprofits that would like to participate should contact Maylette Garces, Executive Director of the Foundation, at maylette@knscf.org or (808) 240-2670.
“We encourage nonprofits to participate because North Shore Give Week is an easy way for everyone to learn about the nonprofits, how to volunteer, and donate to one or more nonprofits, all on one website,” says Garces.
Fun and volunteerism events are planned during North Shore Give Week with participating nonprofits:

Kick off the Give Week with a family-friendly Movie-in-the-Park at the Princeville Park, hosted by the Princeville at Hanalei Community Association and Princeville 2 Community Association. The movie If, starring Ryan Reynolds, will show on the big screen. Bring your blankets and picnic and join us for a fun evening under the stars.
Saturday, September 21 – North Shore Lions Club Project at Kauai Christian Academy

Wednesday, September 25 – Kilauea PTSA Field Trip with Reef Guardians

Thursday, September 26 – Junk Car & Trash Removal by ʻĀina Alliance
Join ʻĀina Alliance and North Shore Give for a critical community clean-up event in Anahola focusing on junk car and trash removal. Donations will pay for vehicle removal while volunteers are needed to assist with trash cleanup and more.
