The largest shopping center on Kauai’s North Shore is the Princeville Shopping Center situated in the heart of Princeville. The Princeville Shopping Center boasts the largest grocery supermarket on the North Shore (Foodland Supermarket), the only hardware store on the North Shore (Island Ace Hardware), two banks (Bank of Hawaii and First Hawaiian Bank), a post office, a gas station (Union 76), two dozen shops including Magic Dragon Toy and Art Supply, Princeville Wine Market, various clothing stores, a dozen business services (such as Dental, Legal, Escrow services, Chiropractor, Yoga, and various Real Estate Companies) and some 10 restaurants and eateries. KILAUEA SHOPS
Healthy Hut Market & Cafe
This is a whole foods type market with a nice selection for vegans and vegetarians. There is also a cafe and juice bar offering organic produce and other farm-fresh eats. It is located at 4280 Hookui Rd, Kīlauea.
Historic Kong Lung Market Center
Built in 1943 this is one of the oldest shops on Kauai’s North Shore. The center has a handful of boutiques and eateries including Kīlauea Bakery & Pizza, The Taro Patch House, Plate Market and Wine Bara and One 1ove Boutique. It is located at 2484 Keneke St, Kīlauea.
Kīlauea Plantation Center
Across the street is the new Kīlauea Plantation Center. The center opened during in 2021 and is anchored by a full-service grocery store, Kīlauea Market & Cafe. Other stores include Kīlauea Fine Jewelry, Island Soap and Candle Works, Hunter Gatherer, Oskar’s Boutique, Java Kai Bar Coffee Roasters and more opening and the center fills up. Ching Young Village Shopping Center
The center is managed a third generation of Ching to reside in Hanalei, after the original store was built in 1906. Big Save Market, Hanalei’s largest grocery store, is located in the center. Other shops include Billabong Hanalei, Village Snack Shop and Bakery, Chocolate Hanalei, Hula Moon, Hot Rocket, Koconut Kids, Gifts of Hanalei, Hanalei String and Things, Infinite Art Gallery, Hanalei Surf Backdoor, some 10 restaurants and eateries, as well as a number of business services such as a (Engineering company, Hairdresser, Alternative Medicine, Yoga Studio, Construction company and a number of Real Estate companies). Hanalei Center
The Hanalei Center is right across the street and is comprised of a number of historical structures, including a former schoolhouse. The center has selection of shops including Rip Curl Hanalei, Havaiki Oceanic, Hanalei Trading Company, Tropical Tantrum and Tribal Art, Sand People as well as half a dozen eateries. Wainiha General Store
Further along Kuhio Highway on the way to the Napali Coast is a no-frills small market selling handy items including beer, ice cream and sunglasses, since 1975. It is located at 5-5785A Kuhio Hwy, Hanalei.
