*** UPDATE ~ RESULTS POST THE ELECTION ***

Six of the seven Kauai County Council members were reelected for another term, with voters also welcoming back a former councilor in the 2024 General Election held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Bernard P. Carvalho Jr., Mel Rapozo, KipuKai Kualii, Addison Bulosan, Felicia Cowden, and Ross Kagawa secured another two-year term. Former council member Arryl J. Kaneshiro also rejoined the governing body, according to results released by the Hawaii Office of Elections on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

However, incumbent Billy DeCosta did not secure reelection. Kaneshiro’s strong performance, including a third-place finish in the Primary Election on Aug. 10, suggested early on that one current council member was likely to be unseated.
