Ohana FitFest ~ September 28, 2024 ~
Hosted by the community foundation North Shore Give, Ohana FitFest is an annual family-friendly obstacle fun run/walk and this year is the 11th anniversary. Scheduled for Saturday, September 28, the event will stage at Prince Albert Park in Princeville, and the route winds along the walk/bike path, stunning ocean-view holes of the Makai Golf Club, and into the Mauka Disc Course.
Register to run or walk by August 31 for discounted fees and be entered into a chance to win $200 in dining at Kalypso Restaurant in Hanalei.
“Ohana FitFest is fun and fitness coming together for a wonderful community event,” said Ken Rosenthal, North Shore Give board member and co-creator of the fun event. Along the route, runners climb, crawl, and test their coordination on obstacles such as the pallet climb, “spider web,” and slip-n-slide. Walkers are also welcome and need not tackle the obstacles.
“We have seen people of all ages, residents and visitors, run or walk in FitFest through the years. They look like they’re having a blast, and many have said they love this event,” continues Rosenthal.
Grants from event proceeds are donated to North Shore elementary schools for health and fitness programs. For more information and to register for Ohana FitFest, visit ohanafitfest.com.
